Cristian Donoso is currently leading a sea kayaking expedition into the unexplored fjords of Western Patagonia. Over the past 5 months, the team has knocked off first ascents of mountains, first descents of rivers, and first traverses of a multitude of glaciers and islands. They have also explored caves and underwater wrecks that few knew existed.
The kayaks that aid them in their sea travel are making their land travel a little more difficult. They have dragged the 400 pounds of kayaks and gear up rivers to get to hidden lakes, through thick forests to get to new vistas, and up glacier covered mountains on the way to new summits. Caves represent their only breaks from the kayaks - and that may not last forever.
